Rajeev Thakur

Biography
Rajeev Thakur is a Senior Computer Scientist at Argonne
National Laboratory and a Senior Fellow in the Computation
Institute at the University of Chicago. He received a
Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from Syracuse University in
1995. His research interests are in the area of
high-performance computing in general and particularly in
parallel programming models, runtime systems,
communication libraries, and scalable parallel I/O. He is
a member of the MPI Forum that defines the Message Passing
Interface (MPI) standard. He is also co-author of the
MPICH implementation of MPI and the ROMIO implementation
of MPI-IO, which have thousands of users all over the
world and form the basis of many commercial MPI
implementations. He was Technical Program Chair of the
SC12 conference and is a member of the Steering Committee
of the SC conference series.
