Dimitrios S. Nikolopoulos

Biography
Dimitrios Nikolopoulos FIET FBCS is a Professor in High
Performance
and Distributed Computing and the Head of the School of Electronics,
Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, at Queen's University
Belfast. He is also Acting as Director of the ECIT Centre for Data
Science and Scalable Computing. His research expertise is in system
software. He is the recipient of a Royal Society Wolfson Research
Merit Award, the NSF CAREER Award, the DOE CAREER Award, the IBM
Faculty Award, the SFI-DEL Investigator Award and seven IEEE/ACM
conference best paper awards. He has published over 190 papers in
premier venues in HPC and has received extensive funding (£11.9m as
PI, £42.8m as CoI) by the NSF, DOE, EPSRC, SFI, NI DfE, Royal Academy
of Engineering, Royal Society, the European Commission, IBM and Intel.
Dimitrios earned PhD (2000), MSc (1997) and BEng (1996) degrees in
Computer Engineering and Informatics from the University of Patras.
