Donald Maghrak

Biography
Don Maghrak is a Senior Computer Scientist at the Krell
Institute in Ames, Iowa. Don studied Computer Science at
the University of Minnesota and has over 26 years
experience in high performance computing as a compiler and
tool developer. Don started his career at Cray Research as
a developer in the Programming Environments group working
on compilers, libraries and tools. Continuing at Silicon
Graphics, Don worked as a developer on the WorkShop
parallel debugger and later as developer of performance
tools. While at SGI Don began developing the
Open|SpeedShop application performance tool and continues
in this capacity today. Don’s research interests include
application performance analysis at extreme scale with an
emphasis on data reduction techniques. Don has
collaborated on papers related to the performance analysis
tool Open|SpeedShop and the Component Based Tool Framework
(CBTF) which emphasizes reusable components implemented
within MRNet (Multicast Reduction Network) .
