Anthony Costa is a computational scientist with a highly
interdisciplinary background. He has worked in many
diverse elds such as fluid dynamics, multivariate
statistics and machine learning, statistical and quantum
mechanics, computational genomics, and medical imaging.
His current research interests include computational tools
for medical image analysis and visualization, especially
as they bridge the intersection of supercomputing and
direct patient care. He is the author of many high-impact
publications in many fields, and currently leads the
Simulation and Modeling programs at the Icahn School of
Medicine at Mount Sinai. He is Assistant Professor of
Neurosurgery, Director of the Neurosurgery Simulation
core, and Director of the Medical Modeling Core there.
Previously, he chaired the first annual instantiation of
this workshop at SC16.
