Timothy Costa is an engineer at Intel Corporation with broad experience in the development and optimization of numerical methods for scientific computing applications. Timothy obtained his Ph.D. in mathematics from Oregon State University where he developed methods for the simulation of charge transport in heterostructure semiconductors and for the simulation of fluid flow in evolving porous media. After his Ph.D. Timothy joined the BLAS team on the Intel Math Kernel Library where he worked on the optimization of basic linear algebra routines for Intel architectures. Timothy now works within Intel’s Artificial Intelligence Products Group on deep learning algorithms and the optimization of deep learning frameworks for Intel architectures.
