Mattan Erez
Biography
Mattan Erez is an Associate Professor at the Department of
Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of
Texas at Austin. His research focuses on improving the
performance, efficiency, and scalability of computing
systems through advances in hardware architecture,
software systems, and programming models. The vision is to
increase the cooperation across system layers and develop
flexible and adaptive mechanisms for proportional resource
usage. Mattan received a BSc in Electrical Engineering and
a BA in Physics from the Technion, Israel Institute of
Technology and his MS and PhD. in Electrical Engineering
from Stanford University. He is a recipient of a 2012
Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and
Engineers (PECASE; awarded 2014 by President Obama), a
2012 Early Career Research Award from the Department of
Energy, and a 2010 NSF CAREER Award.
