Dr. Carlos Jaime Barrios Hernández is director of the High Performance and Scientific Computing Center (SC3UIS soon Colombia Advanced Computing Center CACC), he is associate professor of the Informatics and Systems Engineering School (EISI) of the Universidad Industrial de Santander (UIS). At same time, Dr. Barrios Hernandez is the chair of the SCALAC (Advanced Computing Systems for Latin America and Caribbean) consortium and co-chair of several academic conferences, workshops and summer schools. Research interests of Dr. Barrios are advanced and scalable architectures, performance evaluation, scientific computing linking and programming models. He participates in several projects with different countries in America and Europe. Its studies were in France (Doctor in Informatics and Computer Science (Université de Nice-Sophia Antipolis, Nice) and Master in Applied Mathematics and Informatics (Université de Grenoble-Alpes, Grenoble)) and in Colombia (Systems Engineer, Universidad Industrial de Santander, Bucaramanga).
