Zhiming Zhao is a senior researcher at the University of Amsterdam (UvA). He obtained his Ph.D. in Computer Science from UvA in 2004. His research focuses on novel programming and control models for quality critical systems on programmable infrastructures by using optimization, semantic web linking, and artificial intelligence technologies. He is the scientific coordinator of the EU H2020 project SWITCH (Software Workbench for Interactive Time Critical and Highly self-adaptive cloud applications), and the leader of the “Data for Science” theme in the EU H2020 environmental science cluster project ENVRIPLUS. He also leads the research exploitation task in the EU H2020 VRE4EIC project.
