Paul Selwood

Biography
Paul obtained a PhD in Numerical Analysis at the University of Bristol before moving on to a postdoc in adaptive unstructured grids on parallel computers at the University of Leeds. Since then he has been working on the Unified Model and HPC at the Met Office for 19 years. During this period he has worked on eight generations of supercomputer and was involved in the procurement and acceptance of six of them. He has contributed changes to over forty model releases, with most being in the areas of computational performance and scalability. Paul sits on the Met Office's Exascale Programme Board and leads their HPC Optimisation Team.
