Dr. Guy Lonsdale, CEO of scapos, has over 25 years of experience of industrial R&D in HPC. In previous positions at Engineering Systems International and at NEC Laboratories, NEC Europe (with ~10 years as laboratory head), he was involved in both internal and collaborative HPC and distributed computing (Grid/Cloud) projects and was a member of the senior management of NEC’s Corporate Research group. In addition to involvement in the ETP4HPC Steering Board, he is co-chair of the working group responsible for the “Programming Environment” chapter of the ETP4HPC Strategic Research Agenda and supports ETP4HPC within the EXDCI project. Recent involvement in EU HPC-related projects includes Fortissimo, Fortissimo-2 (both addressing broader take-up of HPC in manufacturing & engineering industries) and the exascale technology project ExaNoDe.
