Amina Jackson
Biography
Amina Jackson is a research Biologist at Naval Research Laboratory, Washington DC. Her focus is in applying multiple analytics approaches such as machine learning to characterize biological features of previously characterized marine systems at ‘omics’ levels, parallel to implementing a workflow of bioinformatics applications on high performance computing (HPC) infrastructure to offer a solution to the exponentially growing big data problem of biological data. Her background is in computer systems, computer languages and cybersecurity, with a Master’s degree in Bioinformatics from Georgetown University. She is currently working on machine learning implementation of supervised and unsupervised learning algorithms on generated mass spectrometry data to enhance its analysis and biological understanding with potential to offer new biological discoveries and meanings.
